Malda Smadi (b. Damascus, Syria) is a multidisciplinary artist working between sculpture and painting. Her practice considers notions of dislocation—whether spiritual, emotional or geographical—through her experience as a woman, and from the Levantine diaspora. Malda graduated from RISD with an MFA in Painting in 2023, and is currently working at the school's alumni office.
