The Gallery at Make Do Studios: Abbe Sunde
Looking in all Directions by Abbe Sunde
What does it mean to inhabit the world differently — to loosen the grip of inherited ways of seeing and to move through life at another pace? Looking in All Directions is an multi-media exhibition of glass, photography, sound, and installation that invites visitors into a practice of desettling: a mode of resistance, tender resilience, and refusal of dominant colonial worldviews. Drawing on concepts of interconnectedness, interwoven time, and embodied memory, these works act as an offering of expanded awareness and a different relationship with the earth and with each other.
MakeDo is a non-profit studio space and gallery located in the Valley Arts District of Providence, RI. We provide affordable studio and working space for artists and craftspeople. We maintain a gallery space that is open to the public for exhibitions and programming, to support creative life and connections in Providence.
